Title : Evaluation of Hypoglycaemic, Hypolipidemic and Antioxidant Potential of Trigonella foenum-graecum L. (Fenugreek) Seeds in Type-2 Diabetics Living in Southern Rajasthan [Paper-1(Research Paper)]
Authors : P. Jain, K. Jain, K. Intodia and S.K.Verma
Abstract :
Diabetes mellitus is a syndrome characterised by disorders of carbohydrates, proteins and lipids metabolism due to insulin deficiency and/or insulin resistance. It has been noted with increasing frequency in India, where it is rising as an epidemic. According to ICMR-INDIAB-17 study, the prevalence of diabetes in India is 11.4%. It has therefore, rightly said that in the coming time, India is going to be the capital of diabetes. Herbal remedies had been tried in the treatment of diabetes mellitus by the Traditional Indian system of medicine. A large number of herbal remedies have been subjected to scientific investigations by many research workers. These are Amla, Karela, Jambu, Giloy, Neem, Guggul, Guargurti Black Gram etc.

Title : Effect of Physical Stress on Platelet Aggregation in Patients with Ischemic Heart Disease [Paper-2(Research Paper)]
Authors : Kiran Intodia, L.K. Bhatnagar and S.K.Verma
Abstract :
Effect of physical stress on platelet aggregation was evaluated in thirty patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) – After collecting fasting blood samples, they were subjected to treadmill test up to stage III, and blood samples were again collected. All the blood samples were subjected for the study of platelet aggregation using ADP and collagen as aggregating agents. The study demonstrated that ADP induced platelet aggregation is variably affected by physical stress while collagen induced platelet aggregation was significantly (p< 0.05) and consistently increased after physical exercise, in patients with IHD.

Title : Phenolic Acid Profiling of the Hydro-ethanolic Extract of Momordica charantia L.[Paper-3(Research Paper)]
Authors : Nitesh Kumar Sah
Abstract :
Momordica charantia L. (Family- Cucurbitaceae) is the most famous and highly appraised species loaded with a number of beneficial aspects in terms of health and disease, capable of exhibiting several therapeutic activities that have been utilized in the ancient mode of medication for treating health-related problems. Although many active compounds like Charantin derived from spices has been shown to have promising effect on therapeutics in terms of preventing and treating several diseases. The aim of this study is to obtain the most active phenolic acid compound of M. charantia using LC-MS method. To carry out this study 50% ethanolic extract was obtained from 50 g dried powder of M. charantia fruits. The solution was then concentrated, filtered, stored, and used for LC-MS analysis. The extracts were analyzed by the LC-MS method which identified different functional compounds present in the extract whose molecular mass did not match with other compounds when compared with other literature and on Pubchem. Therefore, the newly found structures were considered as novel compounds in M. charantia which can be studied for their structure and anticancer activities.

Title : A Study of Prevalence of Allergic Rhinitis with SFAR Score and its Clinical Profile[Paper-4(Research Paper)]
Authors : Richa Gupta, P.C. Jain and Sonali Jain
Abstract :
The prevalence of Allergic Rhinitis (AR) has increased recently. The symptoms of Allergic rhinitis hamper the daily activity of an individual causing difficulty in concentrating at work. Before treating the patient of AR thorough symptomatic assessment should be done so that there is a relief in symptoms of the patient and ability to carry out work is efficient. Symptomatic score for Allergic rhinitis (SFAR) questionnaire is a scoring tool that is cheap, accessible and efficient to assess AR symptoms and its severity. It can be easily carried out on OPD basis and a faster way to treat the patient efficiently early.

Title : Sleep Disturbance and Quality of Life among Nursing Students in the Post - COVID-19 Pandemic Era [Paper-6(Original Paper)]
Authors : K. C. Yadav, S. G. Mehta, Deepak Kumar Salvi and Sanjay Nagda
Abstract :
In the past few years after the declaration of COVID-19 as global health emergency, several epidemiological investigations have been carried out to explore the prevalence and correlates of sleep disturbances in clinical and nonclinical samples. However with respect to their impact on well-being of healthcare students, the prevalence of sleep disturbances in nursing students and its influence on Quality of Life (QoL) has been documented in very few studies. Sleep-related problems are widespread concerns among higher education students, especially medical and nursing students. Since this population is at high risk for developing sleep-related disturbances the current study was aimed at examining sleep disturbances among nursing students without coexistent psychiatric symptomatology. The study was conducted at Tirupati Nursing College in Udaipur city of Rajasthan state.

Title : Platelet Physiology and Mechanics of Aggregation: A Review [Paper-8(Review)]
Authors : : Urvansh Mehta
Abstract :
Platelets are anucleate blood cells that play a crucial role in haemostasis and thrombosis. They also participate in various inflammatory and immune processes, as well as in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases. Platelet aggregation is the result of a complex interaction between platelet surface receptors, soluble agonists, and subendothelial components. Platelet aggregation can be modulated by antiplatelet drugs, which target different pathways of platelet activation and inhibit the formation of thrombi. Antiplatelet therapy is widely used for the prevention and treatment of arterial thromboembolic events, such as myocardial infarction, stroke, and peripheral vascular disease. However, antiplatelet therapy is not without limitations, such as bleeding risk, interindividual variability, and drug resistance. This review summarizes the current knowledge on platelet aggregation and antiplatelet drugs, with a focus on their mechanisms of action, clinical indications, and challenges.

Title : Ethnomedicinal Uses, Phytochemistry and Pharmacology of Millingtonia hortensis L.f. [Paper-9(Review)]
Authors : Anju Kumari and Vartika Jain
Abstract :
Millingtonia hortensis L.f.; a member of family Bignoniaceae; is a large ornamental tree. It is native to Burma but widely cultivated in gardens of India and referred to as Neem Chameli, Akash Neem, and Indian Cork Tree. It not only possess ecological benefits but also useful for medicinal purpose. The tree is traditionally used for the treatment of abdominal pain, body ache, headache, cough, diabetes, diarrhea, fever, indigestion, asthma and vomiting by ethnic communities of India. Phytochemical study of various plant parts has exposed the presence of alkaloids, carbohydrates, phenols, tannins, flavonoids, saponins, betacyanins, coumarins, terpenoids, phenolic and cardiac glycosides. Moreover, many therapeutic bioactive compounds such as hispidulin, scutellarein-5-galactoside, scutellarein, cornoside, hortensin, A-B, rengyol, rengyoside isorengyol, β-carotene, β-sitosterol and millingtonine have been isolated from this plant. It has also demonstrated a range of pharmacological properties, including anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antioxidant, anthelmintic, hepatoprotective, antimutagenic, cytotoxic, larvicidal, anti-convulsant, anti-proliferative and anti-aging in several studies. These pharmacological properties have established a strong scientific foundation for various medicinal uses of M. hortensis as reported in traditional medicine. However, further in vivo as well as large scale clinical studies are required to establish its therapeutic potential.
